Who’s really behind the screen?

Our documentary is about the dangers and risk on young people (especially young girls) talking to strangers online. It will include interviews, re-constructions and factual information. We are basing it on a story about a paedophile from seer green which is local. We decided to do this topic as it is very common now a days and the age of young people joining these social networking sites is getting lower and lower. The younger the people are the more vulnerable, because most of them are ignorrant and oblivious to the actual dangers of social networks like facebook, and other sites which enable you to interact with strangers. We also choose this subject to aware people and to make them more knowledgable on how easy it is for a stranger to find out about you and most of your personal information. We will be interviewing victims and also parents of victims so we get a true story from the people that have really been involved in these crimes. We have done a lot of research on the topic and will be including some of the information into the documentary we will do this by showing some clips of graphs and pictures.  The documentary will be mainly based around a victim of internet stalking called Georgina Nelson. We will reconstruct some of the things that happened to her and will use her to re-act the events that happened.

Research
Internet stalker profile (and any stalker, especially a male)
If you've been wooed by a cyberstalker, this profile will bring you back to reality:
·lives in a 1-room apartment which hasn't been cleaned for months - if ever
·has stacks of pornographic magazines in his bedroom area
·has poor personal hygiene
·has poor table manners
·has poor social etiquette
·hasn't changed the sheets on his bed for months, which are now best described as crusty
·has a bathroom, the state of which doesn't bear thinking about
·lives on pizza and beer/coke, the remnants of which litter his apartment
·may have an unusual pet (eg ferret) which has free run of the apartment
·is either significantly over- or under-weight
·has a small moustache or other facial hair
·has not held down any job for more than a couple of years, probably less
·has no friends
·has no life outside the Internet
The Internet stalker probably has other unpleasant characteristics that sexual harassers possess, and the usual sexual inadequacy including lack of intimacy, controlling behaviour, no concept of the partner's needs, premature ejaculation, and an abnormal belief bordering on obsession in his smallness.

Warning signs
These are the signs to be alert to:
·expects you to spend all of your time with him/her or inform him/her of your whereabouts
·refuses to accept "no" for an answer
·isolates you from your friends and/or family
·puts you down in front of your family or friends
·sends frequent unsolicited or unwelcome gifts
·makes offers of unsolicited help
·excessive niceness in the early stages
·use of guilt to manipulate your feelings or to force you into courses of action you feel unhappy with
·extreme jealousy
·frequent loss of temper
·abuse of alcohol and/or drugs
·following you wherever you go
·threats
.physical or verbal abuse
·damage or destruction to your property
·talks about violence or is fascinated with themes of violence
·makes your family or friends feel scared or uneasy

Who’s really behind the screen?
Children, parents and teachers face a new area of danger: the Internet.

Practical recommendations for parents and others for protecting children against online pedophiles:
·Explain the dangers of communicating with strangers via the Internet
·Alert children to the questionable identity of anyone they meet exclusively through the 'Net or via e-mail.  Discuss the possibility that people are not what they claim to be in their online persona.
·Establish a calm atmosphere so that kids will not fear your reactions if they are troubled by what they encounter online.  Worst of all would be to punish a child for reporting a disturbing incident.
·Tell children not to give their address or their pictures to strangers they meet electronically.
·Discuss online relationships in a friendly and open way at home.  Show interest in the new friends without expressing hostility or suspicion; ask to participate in some of the online chats and e-mail correspondence.  Invite your children to sit in with you during your own online interactions.
·Parents should talk to their child's new online friends’ parents by phone and, eventually, in person before allowing contacts.
·Any attempt to induce a child to meet the correspondent alone or secretly should be reported to local police authorities for investigation.
·Suggestions that children engage in virtual sex play or sexual fantasies should be reported to parents right away.
·Making, transmitting and storing child pornography is a felony; report all such cases to local police authorities at once.
·Children receiving a request for anything unusual (for example, a request for a piece of clothing) should immediately report the incident to their parents.

LO1: Understanding the Requirements of Pre-Production

What is Pre-Production?

In film and video making Pre-Production is when everything is arranged that must be in place before the shooting of the film, video or what have you can commence. storyboards, budgeting, crew, locations are sorted and risk assesments are made. Pre-preduction is very important because without it nothing would run very smoothly or to plan and would be a very messy project.

What are the elements involved in pre-production?
